The First Post
This is the first Reef post.
Welcome. This site has its beginnings in the urge to learn Flex. It was back in late 2006 when I first heard of something called Open Laslo from a gentleman named Faruk. We worked together a moli.com (no longer around) where we coded PHP. Faruk, spoke very highly of Open Laslo and also spoke of an up and coming competitor call Flex. I though it was interesting, but I never had the time to dig into more details.
Fast forward to August 2008 when I finally had the time to learn something new. I picked up my first Flex book while searching for a way to build applications in Flash. NONE of the flash books could lend themselves to making this task easier. Not until I picked up "Learning Flex 3" by Alaric Cole did I start to get excited. I bought the book and by that evening I made my first app.
From that day forward, I've strived to learn Flex and ActionScript so I could make Rich Internet Applications. I think I owe a thanks to Faruk for introducing me. Thanks Faruk,
